Rei Shimobe (Shuten Order) over Mirage — Mirage skins for Deadlock

I've always wanted to add a Shuten Order (By TooKyo Games, please try it if you haven't lol) mod to this game but I did struggle heavily with finding a model available. However, I did manage to dig it out of the files. Much thanks to @Renziennnnl on Twitter for porting in the model to Deadlock, something I do not have the smarts to do even with a guide lol. This mod contains two separate parts; one for the model, one for the icons. I never made a voice mod for this, and it's because I didn't want to comb through every line (As there's no english dub) and manually replace every line with a perfectly translated Japanese counterpart. That being said, if anybody WANTS to, they can. I'd add it to the mod with full credit to them. But I don't expect it at all, that's a project to be taken up entirely out of passion.

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Mirage asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

How do I install Rei Shimobe (Shuten Order) over Mirage?▾
Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Rei Shimobe (Shuten Order) over Mirage safe to install?▾
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 31 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this skin?▾
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾
Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.
Does it still work after the latest patch?▾
A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
