INSTRUCTIONS To install this mod, make sure your gameinfo.gi file (Located at /Deadlock/game/citadel) is edited so it reads addons. Modify the file so the SearchPaths area looks like this: SearchPaths { Game_Language citadel_*LANGUAGE* Game_LowViolence citadel_lv Game citadel/addons Mod citadel Write citadel Game citadel Write core Mod core Game core AddonRoot citadel_addons OfficialAddonRoot citadel_community_addons } } //after the FileSystem separator above AddonConfig { "UseOfficialAddons" "1" } This mod is separated into 2 files: pak12_dir.vpk is the main part of the mod, pak25_dir.vpk is for the Blasted sound effect Then place these .VPK files inside of /Deadlock/game/citadel/addons. The game reads the PakXX_dir.vpk files from lowest to highest number.
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Billy asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.
