Wide FOV Slider — quality of life/fixes for Deadlock
AI DISCLAIMER: this mod was made with AI assistance (Claude by Anthropic, claude.ai ). Claude wrote the settings-menu edits and the scripts. No image-generating AI was used. Adds a "Wide FOV (aspect ratio)" slider to Settings / Game / Camera Settings , right under the normal Camera FOV slider, which stops at 90. The new slider controls the game's aspect-ratio setting (r_aspectratio), the same setting performance configs use to widen the view, but you change it live in the menu instead of editing gameinfo.gi. Range 0.01 to 3.20 (2.15 = the normal 90 FOV view). The menu goes see-through while you drag, like the stock FOV slider. Your value is saved and re-applied automatically every time you launch the game. No config file editing needed. Video: https://youtu.be/4IOeD3YjcVo. Install. Grimoire / Deadlock Mod Manager: install and enable it. Manual: rename the VPK to an unused pakXX_dir.vpk (e.g. pak50_dir.vpk) and put it in Deadlock\game\citadel\addons\. Notes Client side only: it only changes your own camera. It replaces the settings menu layout and the main menu root layout, so it conflicts with other mods that replace popup_settings or base_dashboard, and needs an update after big game patches. If a performance config sets r_aspectratio in gameinfo.gi, that value becomes the slider's default marker; your saved slider value is applied after launch. How it remembers your value: it…
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

How do I install Wide FOV Slider?▾▴
.vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide. Is Wide FOV Slider safe to install?▾▴
.vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 334 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny. Will other players see this mod?▾▴
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾▴
pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.Does it still work after the latest patch?▾▴
gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.Where does the download come from?▾▴
How do I remove Wide FOV Slider?▾▴
.vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
