WhatsApp Lock turns the whole Deadlock roster into WhatsApp: - Skins: every hero is recoloured WhatsApp green/teal and covered in WhatsApp. logos. Bebop gets his own tuned version (only his paint is recoloured, the. metal stays metal). - Sounds: over 2,300 ability sounds are replaced. Hits and kills are the. notification, casts are the whistle, explosions are a pile of notifications, and Bebop's ult plays the remix. Pings, kill confirm, chat and invite sounds. are replaced too. - Text (English only): abilities and items are renamed - Rallying Charge is. WhatsApp Charge, Hyper Beam is WhatsApp Beam, "Rule, Ratannia!" is. "Rule, WhatsApp!". Descriptions follow along: enemies are contacts, allies. are group members, bullets are messages. Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Bebop asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.

A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back.
