Tracer++ — Haze skins for Deadlock

A Tracer Model replacement for Haze that attempted to retain a majority of the visual complexity and detail of a "detailed" but SFW model of Tracer from Overwatch 2 which relatively faithfully adapts the Blizzard original design (with a few adjustments to fit haze's bones and animations). -Includes over 122 jiggle bones (hair spikes, jacket collar, sleeves and flaps, straps and buckles). -Full-detail textures baked from the original materials (TRCR stencils, scuffs, weaves, skin pores, hair strand normals) into unique 8K/4K atlases. -Pistol, muzzle flash, and projectile tracer replacements to the faithful blue. -Unoptimized design in favor of visual fidelity. 2 Variants are included, One with all the bells and whistles, another with just the jumpsuit. This will not replace any icons or voicelines, feel free to do so at your discretion. A byproduct of the muzzle flash change is it could break in the future, and could appear on other character in very rare edge cases (maybe 1 rarely on vyper in very rare scenarios, byproduct of valve bundling and reusing some gun assets on older characters)

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Haze asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install Tracer++?▾
Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Tracer++ safe to install?▾
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 104 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this skin?▾
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾
Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.
Does it still work after the latest patch?▾
A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
Where does the download come from?▾
Directly from the author's GameBanana page. deadlocktrade.gg indexes mods and links back; it never rehosts files, so you always get the release the author published.
How do I remove Tracer++?▾
Delete its .vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
