Soldier: 76 over Infernus — Infernus skins for Deadlock

Replaces Infernus with Soldier: 76 from Overwatch. What's included. Soldier: 76's full model with his pulse rifle and visor glow, on Infernus's skeleton and animations, with four levels of detail. All 1,865 Infernus voice lines replaced with Soldier: 76's Overwatch voice, sorted by line type: hero select, kills, abilities, pings, shop, pain, respawn and more. Good to know. Client-side only. You see Soldier, everyone else sees and hears Infernus. Gameplay and hitboxes are unchanged. He moves with Infernus's animations: the rifle stays shouldered in his right hand while his left arm follows Infernus's moves. Conflicts with other mods that replace Infernus's model, portraits or voice. Keep this one higher in the load order. Made for Deadlock build 25841406 (October 2026). If a big update breaks Infernus, check back here for an update. Install. Deadlock Mod Manager: 1-Click Install. Manual: copy pak10_dir.vpk into Deadlock\game\citadel\addons (rename it to a free number if pak10 is taken). README.txt has the gameinfo.gi steps. Fan-made. Soldier: 76's model, textures, voice and portrait art belong to Blizzard Entertainment. Not affiliated with Blizzard or Valve.

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Infernus asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install Soldier: 76 over Infernus?▾
Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Soldier: 76 over Infernus safe to install?▾
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 2 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this skin?▾
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾
Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.
Does it still work after the latest patch?▾
A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
Where does the download come from?▾
Directly from the author's GameBanana page. deadlocktrade.gg indexes mods and links back; it never rehosts files, so you always get the release the author published.
How do I remove Soldier: 76 over Infernus?▾
Delete its .vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
