Sinner's Sacrifice Heavy Cue — quality of life/fixes for Deadlock
What it does. Heavy melee takes 0.36 s to wind up, so if you wait for all the bulbs to light you're already too late. Since the 29 Sept update the machines also run at two different speeds, which makes it worse. This mod tells you when to press: Normal speed (white bulbs): bulb 7 goes green with a low beep. Fast speed (red-orange bulbs): bulb 5 goes green with a high beep. Green + beep = hold heavy melee. The hit lands right as the last bulb lights. The beep is tied to the bulb itself so it never drifts out of sync, and all the normal sounds still play. Files. Main file: green bulb + beeps. Colourblind: yellow bulbs on normal speed, blue on fast, cyan press bulb, same beeps. Bulb only: just the green bulb, no sound changes. Use this if you already run a mod that changes Sinner's Sacrifice sounds. Install. Mod Manager: add the zip and enable it. Manual: close Deadlock, take pak01_dir.vpk out of the zip, rename it to pak67_dir.vpk (any free number works) and drop it in Deadlock\game\citadel\addons . Heads up. Conflicts with other mods that change the Sinner's Sacrifice sounds or bulb materials. If two machines near you are running at different speeds at the same time, the beep can follow the wrong one. Bulb 7 is also lit while you're still knocking the machine down. The cue only counts once the lights start filling from bulb 1. High ping will make you late no matter what. Client-…
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions
How do I install Sinner's Sacrifice Heavy Cue?▾▴
.vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide. Is Sinner's Sacrifice Heavy Cue safe to install?▾▴
.vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 375 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny. Will other players see this mod?▾▴
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾▴
pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.Does it still work after the latest patch?▾▴
gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.Where does the download come from?▾▴
How do I remove Sinner's Sacrifice Heavy Cue?▾▴
.vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
