Silver Shot | Rate of Fire timing — quality of life/fixes for Deadlock
This mod is designed for slow rate of fire characters like Silver but will work with any character. REQUIRES A MOD THAT SHOWS YOUR STATS IN SHOP, ETHER QOL LOCK WITH THE SETTING ON OR SHOW STATS IN SHOP There is a version with Show Stats in Shop built into it but hidden so that the mod works without the effect of the dependent mod. (It was ether that or have the player hover over their weapon bar to get weapon details every time they buy a rate of fire item) This will change your ammo's color based on if you can shoot at the current time or not. Green = Good to shoot. Yellow = Average human reaction time buffer, press when you see it Red = Can not shoot (or out of ammo) This mod will grab your bonus temporary rate of fire at all times and update your base rate of fire when you access the shop menu. NOTE: This mod will need to be updated after any change to Blood Tribute's rate of fire or it will not be correct when Blood Tribute is active. Won't update unless you open your shop so don't use Quickbuy to get your firerate items IF YOU SWAP CHARACTERS OPEN YOUR SHOP, this updates the rate of fire.
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions
How do I install Silver Shot | Rate of Fire timing?▾▴
.vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide. Is Silver Shot | Rate of Fire timing safe to install?▾▴
.vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 1,439 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny. Will other players see this mod?▾▴
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾▴
pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.Does it still work after the latest patch?▾▴
gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.Where does the download come from?▾▴
How do I remove Silver Shot | Rate of Fire timing?▾▴
.vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
