Show Rank / Lane missing warning (Early ver.) — quality of life/fixes for Deadlock

[ Twitch ] | [ Support ] — Thanks for checking out the mod! This mod shows the enemy predicted rank based on deadlock.api . To start populate the ranks you need to press esc when the match has finish loading or when started the on the zip line, then it would auto populate the ranks. Warning the mod has these xml and may conflicted on other mods: profile_card.xml players_list_entry.xml hud_escape_menu.xml citadel_ui_context_menu_player.xml citadel_hud_top_bar_player.xml citadel_hud_top_bar.xml I've made a topbar merger web app at https://hantu-raya.github.io/Show-rank-merger/ to remove any conflicts file So far only top bar plus that's supported and optimized. How to use this: 1. Download the v40d (latest will get supported later) 2. Download the show rank and pick want variant you want 3. Put the require files accordingly 4. Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

How do I install Show Rank / Lane missing warning (Early ver.)?▾
Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Show Rank / Lane missing warning (Early ver.) safe to install?▾
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 64,449 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this mod?▾
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.

Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.
Does it still work after the latest patch?▾
A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
