Room Service - A Doorman Animation Pack — animations for Deadlock

Doorman is now very accommodating. Slide: lands on his back with his legs spread up in a V. Ult: pick ONE. Option A: snaps into a squat with both hands on his butt on the beat drop. Inspired by the Hot Milk Doorman Ult from pinkcrackshot. Option B: drops to the floor with his legs in the air on the beat drop. Both come with a custom beat-drop sound, muted ult voice lines and a little jiggle on landing. Call Bell / Doorway / Luggage Cart: Pops up into an arched bend-over with an extra grunt on top of the original cast sound. Each ability is a separate download. Optional: makes the Call Bell and Luggage Cart animations full-body in mid-air, so his legs join in during a jump. Shout-out to pinkcrackshot , creator of Hot Milk Doorman Ult, which directly inspired the creation of this pack, and Ultimate animation A. Full preview with sound in the YouTube video. I'm actively working in refining the mod, and adding more to the existing pack asap.

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Room Service - A Doorman Animation Pack safe to install?▾
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 1,208 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this mod?▾
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.

Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.

A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
