Quiet HUD — hud for Deadlock
Work in progress: Quiet HUD is still being tested and tuned. Expect updates, and please report anything that looks off in the comments. Quiet HUD gives the action more room while keeping the information you need to play close at hand. The top player portraits, team totals, detailed inventory and stats, and objective overview stay tucked away until you need them. Press Tab to bring back the full portrait row and the rest of the overview. Release it, and everything fades away in half a second . A quick tap is enough for a glance at the whole match. Double-tap Tab to keep the overview on, and double-tap again to hide it. Prefer another key? Add a second key to Scoreboard in Deadlock's key settings. It gives you the same overview while keeping Tab available. Health and shields, ammo and reload, the crosshair, stamina, abilities and their cooldowns, equipped active items and their cooldowns, and hero resource meters stay available. Your own health and stamina sit as flat bars right above your abilities. The stamina blocks are on top; they fill up as they recharge and change color like the stock bar. Health is underneath, with its regen value and heal numbers. Items you own stay visible, and empty item slots are hidden. Your spendable souls also remain visible in this build. The mod leaves the clock and minimap alone, including the game's own behavior when opening the shop or changin…
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions
How do I install Quiet HUD?▾▴
.vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide. Is Quiet HUD safe to install?▾▴
.vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 113 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny. Will other players see this mod?▾▴
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾▴
pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.Does it still work after the latest patch?▾▴
gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.Where does the download come from?▾▴
How do I remove Quiet HUD?▾▴
.vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
