Portgas D Ace InfernusInfernus skins for Deadlock

This mod replaces Infernus with Ace from One Piece. Pretty standard mod, but I'm pretty proud of the cloth chains I set up for the hat and other parts of the model, and frankly I'm pleasantly surprised by how well the model fit. Special thank you to Linguine for this commission! Model Source License: "Portgas D. Ace" ( https://skfb.ly/6RMWo ) by StE.ScH . is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). In turn, the original model was by user "Gigano Regulus," whose account seems to no longer exist, but I can only assume that the same license applies. I claim no ownership or endorsement by the original model creators. Changes done to the model include re-orienting of the skeleton, tweaking the mesh, and applying a new armature to the model.

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Infernus asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install Portgas D Ace Infernus?
Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Portgas D Ace Infernus safe to install?
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 10,736 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this skin?
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.
Can I run it alongside other mods?
Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.
Does it still work after the latest patch?
A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
Where does the download come from?
Directly from the author's GameBanana page. deadlocktrade.gg indexes mods and links back; it never rehosts files, so you always get the release the author published.
How do I remove Portgas D Ace Infernus?
Delete its .vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
What other Infernus mods are there?
52 mods are indexed for Infernus, 52 of them skins. Browse all Infernus mods.
