MINIMAP VISUAL ENHANCEMENT (TRANSPARENT MINIMAP) — quality of life/fixes for Deadlock

MAKES MINIMAP MORE VISUALLY BEAUTIFUL. NO BACKGROUND TRANSPARENT SEE THROUGH CLEAN RECOMMENDED TO HAVE IT AS "pak01_dir". (FIRST MOD IN ADDONS FOLDER) CHOOSE ONLY 1 MOD TO DOWNLOAD. CHOOSE SIZE AND TYPE ACCORDINGLY. (LOOK AT IMAGES FOR MORE INFO) IF YOU WANT THE MINIMAP WITH ENLARGED AND CENTERED MINIMAP WHEN HOLDING TAB, CHOOSE ONE WITH “ CENTERIFIER ” AT THE BEGINNING . Compatible with " Top Bar Plus ", " Minimap Alternative Icons " and all other HUD mods. Not compatible with mods that change the actual Minimap itself. The first image was made with Adobe Firefly in Photoshop. All other images were made using only Photoshop. The mod itself was made using V.S. Code, Panorama Debugger , CSDK12 and Source2Viewer. F.Y.I. no A.I. or images used to make this mod. The Mod is pure code.

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.

A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
