Miku As Paradox (Leek, Hair Physics, Voicelines!) — Paradox skins for Deadlock

Hatsune Miku takes over Paradox! This mod is built on funnymonkeyman's wonderful Miku model from "Hatsune Miku - Celeste", shared here with their permission. Huge thanks to funnymonkeyman for letting me build on it. Go check out the original: https://gamebanana.com/mods/655264. WHAT'S IN IT. - Miku refitted for Paradox: the model was moved from Celeste's skeleton onto Paradox's, with her proportions reworked so she moves naturally with all of Paradox's animations and abilities. - Twin-tail hair physics: her twin tails sway and flow as she runs, jumps and turns. Keep in mind that they are pretty large and can sometimes obscure the crosshair when you're trying to make shots. Especially if you've just jumped from a line with your 3rd ability charged and you're trying to land a long range shot. The Twin-tails might cover your crosshair then. - Paradox's gun is now Miku's iconic leek: a plush-style leek in her hand. - Softer, more natural eyes: Deadlock has no facial animation, so her resting expression was reworked to remove the wide-eyed stare. - New HUD portraits that change with the game state (normal / low health / on fire), plus a new kill-feed icon, minimap icon and hero-select tile, made from Crypton's official Hatsune Miku illustration. - Optional AI-voice version: every Paradox voice line converted to a Miku-style voice (separate download). DOWNLOADS (install only ONE). -…

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Paradox asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install Miku As Paradox (Leek, Hair Physics, Voicelines!)?▾
Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Miku As Paradox (Leek, Hair Physics, Voicelines!) safe to install?▾
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 146 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this skin?▾
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾
Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.
Does it still work after the latest patch?▾
A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
Where does the download come from?▾
Directly from the author's GameBanana page. deadlocktrade.gg indexes mods and links back; it never rehosts files, so you always get the release the author published.
How do I remove Miku As Paradox (Leek, Hair Physics, Voicelines!)?▾
Delete its .vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
