Jeff | Drifter Skin — Drifter skins for Deadlock
Replaces Drifter with the Jeff from Half Life: Alyx This is my second HL: A model replacement for deadlock. I will probably not work on this one unless it needs fixing as I am happy with its current state. This mod has: Sound replacements for movement, being damaged, dying, hero selecting, voice lines when using abilities and some ability sounds. Custom HUD Icons (I'm a lot happier with how I did these.) And of course the model itself (Note: the head rotates.) Model, sounds, textures etc. by Valve
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Drifter asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions
How do I install Jeff | Drifter Skin?▾▴
.vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide. Is Jeff | Drifter Skin safe to install?▾▴
.vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 1,504 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny. Will other players see this skin?▾▴
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾▴
pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.Does it still work after the latest patch?▾▴
gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.Where does the download come from?▾▴
How do I remove Jeff | Drifter Skin?▾▴
.vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
