HUD Damage/Feedback Revamp — hud for Deadlock
Health bars are split into 250 or 100 HP blocks, so you can better see how much HP is left at a glance. As of 3.0 that's every unit: enemies, teammates, troopers, neutral camps and objectives, in the game's team colors. When a block empties, it breaks off, and every hit gives the bar a little jolt (i find it really helps with feeling like you're actually dealing damage). Teammates' bars skip the breaking off part. Heroes and objectives show current/max HP where the ultimate eye was (its already shown at the top of the screen, I'm not sure what the point of it was). This can also be toggled on/off using the game's native "Health Numbers" Toggle. Teammates don't get the eye anymore either. The hitmarker was made smaller and thinner, with a quick "bounce" on every hit. Crits stay yellow with the red glow. The floating numbers on your target are gone. A small readout beside your crosshair shows: your last hit (crits yellow, spirit purple, melee orange, plus a small breakdown when one hit does both gun and spirit damage). your total damage this fight. your average DPS. It fades out once the fight’s over. Damage you take and healing numbers are unchanged. I tried to keep it in theme with the game as best i could, but im not an artist. It should work alongside QOL lock, but i only tested it in the practice range. If you have problems, let me know
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions
How do I install HUD Damage/Feedback Revamp?▾▴
.vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide. Is HUD Damage/Feedback Revamp safe to install?▾▴
.vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 742 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny. Will other players see this mod?▾▴
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾▴
pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.Does it still work after the latest patch?▾▴
gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.Where does the download come from?▾▴
How do I remove HUD Damage/Feedback Revamp?▾▴
.vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
