Gengar Soul Container (Holowear: Fairy-Tale) — model replacement for Deadlock

This is a model-swap for the Soul Container using a model based on the Pokemon Unite Holowear costume variants. Specifically, the 'Fairy-Tale style' Holowear variant. It includes the standard green-flame soul particle effect that the original Soul Containers have as well. I have tested it with each of the heroes and it does not look the best cosmetically with some heroes. This is mainly due to my placement of the model on the Soul Container bone; I had to move the model itself forward due to the large gourd on Gengar's back. These are the heroes that it may not look the best on, and the reasons why: Rem: Hangs a bit too low for my liking. Paradox: Same as with Rem, hanging too low, but with the addition of being pushed further outward by the hourglass on her back. Silver: Gengar faces the ground lol. Shiv: Hangs a little too low for my liking. Victor: Has an overall 'odd' placement due to his strange, hunched posture. Wraith: Placement is fine, I just don't like that it clips through her coat. Either way, feel free to leave me feedback, as this is my first published mod for Deadlock.

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.

A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back.
