FOV Slider – Live In-Game Adjustment — quality of life/fixes for Deadlock
AI ASSISTANCE DISCLOSURE. This mod contains Panorama code developed with assistance from OpenAI Codex . Codex helped with writing, debugging, and organizing the code. I chose the functionality and design, reviewed the result, and personally tested the mod in Deadlock. No AI-generated images, audio, models, textures, voicework, or other visual assets are included in the mod. About. I made this mod because changing FOV through the config is inconvenient. You have to restart the game to see the result, and it is not obvious which values can be used. FOV Slider adds an in-game menu that lets you adjust the same setting normally changed through the config. It also allows you to go beyond the range available in Deadlock’s standard settings. The supported range is 1.78–3.50 . Changes are applied immediately, so you can see the result and find a comfortable value without restarting the game every time. How to use. Press ESC . Click FOV Slider . Press ESC again to close the main menu. The FOV Slider window will remain on the screen. Move the slider or enter a value manually. Adjust it until you find a comfortable setting. The window can be moved around the screen. Installation. Deadlock Mod Manager. Open Deadlock Mod Manager. Search for FOV Slider . Select the mod and click Install. Manual installation. Download and extract the archive. Rename the VPK file to pakXX_dir.vpk , for example…
Compatibility
Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.
Is it safe
It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions
How do I install FOV Slider – Live In-Game Adjustment?▾▴
.vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide. Is FOV Slider – Live In-Game Adjustment safe to install?▾▴
.vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 1,087 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny. Will other players see this mod?▾▴
Can I run it alongside other mods?▾▴
pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.Does it still work after the latest patch?▾▴
gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.Where does the download come from?▾▴
How do I remove FOV Slider – Live In-Game Adjustment?▾▴
.vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
