Hello! I have been developing this config for over six months and have big plans for this project. My goal is to squeeze every bit of performance out of Deadlock, so you can enjoy a smooth gameplay experience even in the most intense moments. How many frames per second will I get? I've found a way to increase FPS by adjusting numerous parameters, from shadows and decals to physics effects and render distance. I'm confident you'll see a performance gain, especially during team battles. While I can't promise a specific number, as it heavily depends on your hardware, I am aiming to provide the highest possible FPS boost. Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Is configuration optimization from dyson safe to install?▾
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 114,672 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.

No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.

A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back.
