Australium "The Black Sheep" (Gold Pocket Gun)Pocket skins for Deadlock

Changes the material for Pocket's gun to be golden and shiny just like the Australium weapons in TF2. Only changes gun material, does not change any model files, so reskins and model swaps will still work fine as long as the gun model is not changed. If you have issues with this, check your mod order. Side note, I know it's super inconsistent how these look for each character. I try my best with what they give me, but since most characters just have grey pngs as textures for guns and terrible UV mapping, I have to bs some texture up. So that's why this one and a lot of other characters have plain grey as secondary colors. I'll update them as soon as the devs update the textures to make them better. (this is by far the worst UV ive ever seen bro)

Compatibility

Model replacements are the first thing to break when Valve edits a skeleton, so re-check after each patch. It conflicts with any other mod replacing the same Pocket asset — two in the addons folder means whichever loads last wins, and the other one silently does nothing.

Is it safe

It is client-side: the file lives on your machine and other players see the default game. Cosmetic addons have not produced bans, but Deadlock is in active development and nothing about mods is officially supported. Keep a copy of the folder before a patch and remove it if the game stops launching.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install Australium "The Black Sheep" (Gold Pocket Gun)?
Two ways. With Deadlock Mod Manager, use the Mod Manager button on this page and it downloads and places the file for you. By hand, put the .vpk into game/citadel/addons and name it pak01_dir.vpk. That folder only loads once gameinfo.gi lists it, which is a one-time edit — check the install guide.
Is Australium "The Black Sheep" (Gold Pocket Gun) safe to install?
A .vpk is a data archive, not a program, so it cannot execute code the way an installer can. The risk is provenance. This one has 1,085 installs, so a problem would have surfaced on its GameBanana thread. Mods with almost no downloads from accounts with no history have had none of that scrutiny.
Will other players see this skin?
No. Deadlock loads mods client-side, so the file only changes what you render. Everyone else sees the default game, in every mode including ranked.
Can I run it alongside other mods?
Yes, as long as they change different things — a skin and a HUD work together fine. Two skins for the same hero do not: only one can be applied, and Deadlock picks the lower-numbered file. With pak01_dir.vpk and pak02_dir.vpk installed, pak01 wins and the other does nothing.
Does it still work after the latest patch?
A Deadlock patch can overwrite gameinfo.gi and remove your search paths, which stops every manually installed mod at once — redo that edit and they come back. Separately, model replacements break first when Valve edits a skeleton; recolours and HUD mods usually survive. The author posts updates on the GameBanana page.
Where does the download come from?
Directly from the author's GameBanana page. deadlocktrade.gg indexes mods and links back; it never rehosts files, so you always get the release the author published.
How do I remove Australium "The Black Sheep" (Gold Pocket Gun)?
Delete its .vpk from game/citadel/addons, or toggle it off in the Deadlock Mod Manager library. Mods never overwrite game files, so nothing needs repairing afterwards.
What other Pocket mods are there?
65 mods are indexed for Pocket, 65 of them skins. Browse all Pocket mods.
